Job Description:

The Valuation Control Intermediate Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for contributing to the Independent Price Verification, Valuation Adjustment and Fair Value Hierarchy processes.

Job Responsibility:

  • Solve valuation issues under little to no supervision, including complex problems
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of industry standards and practices to daily tasks
  • Identify process gaps and control issues
  • Analyse situations and data utilizing data analysis tools and methodologies
  • Select the best pre-defined procedure to resolve issues and seek guidance when necessary
  • Follow and maintain accurate and complete procedure notes and associated maker checker responsibilities
  • Escalate anomalies and issues in an efficient and timely manner
  • Interpret data, identify inconsistencies through research and recommend solutions based on analysis
  • Develop knowledge of how team interacts with others to accomplish Valuation Control goals
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of product valuation, industry practices and standards
  • Provide solutions for varied issues that potentially impact the broader business
  • Communicate information clearly and succinctly
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

  • Actively liaise with VCG Asset Class Teams (Equities, Commodities, Credit, Rates, FXLM) to organise and communicate valuation results
  • Preparation of the quarterly Level 3 Unobservable Inputs for 10Q/K and Legal Entity reporting
  • Ensure a high level of accuracy across all reported numbers, high quality of pertaining commentaries and process documentation, and adequate legal entity focus
  • Active participation in preparation of the Financial Statements for specific Legal Entities
  • Streamline EUCs (End-User Computing Tools), taking a critical approach towards existing processes, and helping build effective and well-controlled processes for new reporting requirements
  • Liaise with Controllers, Risk Management, and senior management
