The Valuation Control Group (VCG) is an independent global group within Product Control responsible for reviewing and reporting fair value inventory and IPV across all asset classes. The successful candidate will work the Non-Markets Valuation Control team and will be expected to have hands-on involvement to ensure the completeness, accuracy and integrity of the bank's books and records. Non-Markets covers Citi business units in Banking, Services, Wealth, U.S. Consumer Cards and All Other (Corporate Treasury and Legacy Franchises).
Job Responsibility:
Execute valuation control processes, including Independent Price Verification (IPV), Valuation Adjustments, and Fair Value Hierarchy maintenance
Analyze data and market conditions to identify and provide solutions for valuation issues
Develop and prepare Business Valuation Control Reports
Contribute to the development and implementation of controls to ensure compliance with valuation policies
Identify pricing discrepancies and IPV threshold breaches, acting as an initial escalation point
Maintain a high level of accuracy across all reported numbers and commentaries
Contribute to relationships with key stakeholders such as Front Office, Product Control, Risk, and other VCG teams
Requirements:
Minimum 3-4 years of relevant professional experience
General understanding of securities and derivative valuation methodologies
Advanced Excel skills
Strong analytical skills, including experience with high-volume data analysis
Quantitative background/experience in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field
Proficiency in programming and/or scripting (VBA, SQL, Python, Tableau) would be an advantage
Strong communication, influencing, and leadership skills
Presenting to large audiences is a plus
Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, or a closely related quantitative field
Nice to have:
