Team/Role Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to work within the Valuation Control Group as a finance intermediate analyst in Global Securities Hub team. The candidate should have a good understanding of the valuation of financial instruments, implementing/maintaining an effective control framework, along with regulatory developments and global account standards that impact financial valuations. The role will cover valuation control of the G10 rates and Local Market countries products inventory and will require strong communication skills and teamwork across multiple locations and departments (New York, Warsaw, London, Singapore, Budapest). Key responsibilities of VCG are to perform the independent price verification for Citi’s financial inventory, create valuation adjustments, perform fair-value levelling and evaluate the valuation implications of new trade activity VCG is a cornerstone of the Controllers Organization. The function is organized into product-aligned teams including a dedicated Price Verification team. The product scope is comprehensive and includes a full range of security types.
Job Responsibility:
Responsible for valuation control related production, such as Independent Price Verification, Valuation Adjustments and Fair Value Hierarchy results
Identify process gaps and control issues
Responsible for timely reporting and communication of results and significant matters to stakeholders and Regional & Global Heads
Relationship management across other functions within Finance (Product Control, Accounting Policy, Local Finance) and the Front Office (Market Risk, Trading/Business Managers, Model Risk, Quants etc)
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in any finance, accounting or quantitative related subject
1-2 years of finance-related experience, ideally in a valuation, product control, financial control or a related discipline
Familiarity with financial products and valuation principles
Advanced Excel skills
Strong analytical skills
High volume data analysis background
Understanding of financial statements and basic accounting concepts
Fluent English with strong verbal and written communication skills at minimum B2 level
