The Valuation Control Analyst is a beginner level position responsible for contributing to the Independent Price Verification, Valuation Adjustment and Fair Value Hierarchy processes.
Job Responsibility:
Support the Valuation Control Group in reviewing and validating monthly IPV results
Assist with the investigation of valuation differences and issues, working with senior team members and partner teams as directed
Perform routine analysis using established reports, templates, and tools to support valuation control processes
Execute pre-defined procedures accurately and in accordance with documented controls and policies
Maintain clear and complete documentation, including procedure notes and maker/checker evidence
Identify unusual items, breaks, or data inconsistencies and escalate them appropriately to senior team members
Conduct basic research to help understand drivers of valuation movements and control issues
Develop an understanding of the team’s role within Valuation Control and how it interacts with Trading, Product Control, Risk, and other stakeholders
Build foundational knowledge of financial products, valuation methodologies, and market practices through on-the-job learning and training
Communicate findings clearly and concisely, seeking guidance when handling complex or sensitive information
Adhere to firm policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, demonstrating a strong control mindset and commitment to Citi’s ethical standards, risk management, and reputation
Requirements:
1-2 years of relevant experience
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
