Microsoft Teams is seeking a UX Researcher with a proven track record for delivering compelling user experiences that are usable, seamless, impactful solutions, deeply rooted in customer needs. In this role, you’ll be part of the team responsible for Teams Growth – specifically focused on communications and collaboration solutions for our SMB customer base. You will work closely with Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to define and deliver innovative solutions that empower people and teams to work more effectively and efficiently.
Job Responsibility:
Work alongside multidisciplinary team members (product, design, engineering, data science) to identify and prioritize research questions, efforts & goals
Support a balance of evaluative, foundational and strategic research efforts in alignment with team priorities and needs
Plan and execute mixed-methods research projects using a variety of methodologies, including ethnography, contextual inquiry, diary studies, concept testing, benchmarking, competitive analysis, usability testing, and other appropriate qualitative and quantitative research techniques
Continually monitor secondary research sources (both internal and external) such as academic research and industry reports to stay informed about relevant industry & research trends
Effectively synthesize, communicate and engage the team in research findings to advocate for and ensure key insights & recommendations are actioned
Create and manage UX research knowledge that is leveraged across design and engineering teams and across products when appropriate
Balance rigor with scrappiness in alignment with fast paced product development cycles - regularly delivering high-quality, durable research outputs that inform, derisk and influence decision making
Leverage a variety of digital research tools to support your work (e.g. UserTesting, Respondent, dScout, Marvin, Copilot, etc.)
Contribute to, and elevate the research craft of the team - cross-pollinate learnings and experiences with other CxD Researchers

Master's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications, Information Science, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Behavioral Science, Social Sciences, or related field AND 1+ year(s) User Experience Research experience
OR Bachelor's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications, Information Science, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Behavioral Science, Social Sciences, or related field AND 2+ years User Experience Research experience
OR equivalent experience
1+ year(s) relevant domain experience within technology sector
1+ year(s) experience in research methods impacting both product direction and detailed experience design
Track record of collaborating and enabling cross disciplines (design, program management, engineering, content writers, and marketing) to drive change into products
must be able to work independently as well as part of a cohesive team
Excellent communication and presentation / storytelling skills, with the ability to engage, energize and activate teams
A strong research portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables (eg: study plans, reports, and impact/outcomes)
Demonstrated championing of fundamentals of user experience, including accessibility and inclusive design
Experience working with B2B customers to deliver complex SaaS products
Active thought leadership in user experience issues and trends
Proven ability to champion and drive plans for research programs for widespread impact across a division, across the company, or within the industry
