This is a junior–mid weight User Experience Designer role, suited to someone with some professional UX experience who is looking to further develop their skills and take increasing ownership of their work in a collaborative environment. You’ll be part of an international design team, which means on a Monday and Wednesday we'd need you to start at 7am and finish earlier in the day. The role is predominantly remote, offering flexibility in how and where you work. You will be expected to travel to our Thame office at least twice a month, and occasionally to other UK locations such as London, Birmingham, Manchester or Leeds, for team and company days. This opportunity offers work across the full design lifecycle, from early discovery and research through to producing development-ready designs. This includes working within our existing interaction design framework and design system, as well as contributing to their ongoing evolution. You’ll work across multiple brands and products, applying a consistent approach whilst adapting to different contexts. Collaboration is important to us, so you’ll work closely with cross-functional product teams including Product Owners, Business Analysts and Developers. You’ll contribute confidently to user research activities, support strategic design initiatives and help grow research maturity across the business. You’ll often work on more than one project at a time, managing priorities and balancing competing demands with support from the wider team. Communication is a key part of the role. You’ll regularly share your work with other designers for input, and you’ll present design concepts, research insights and design decisions to stakeholders across the business
Job Responsibility:
Take ownership of feature design from discovery through to development-ready screens, balancing user needs, business goals and technical constraints
Use our design system effectively and contribute to its ongoing evolution by identifying gaps, proposing improvements and sharing best practices
Apply and extend existing design patterns to ensure consistency and quality, particularly when working on mature products where interaction detail is critical
Develop clear, end-to-end user journeys that articulate user needs, pain points and opportunities for improvement
Use and contribute to our feature delivery templates, fully annotating designs to clearly document design decisions and design system usage
Ensure that all designs are inclusive and accessible, meeting accessibility standards and advocating for best practice across product teams
Support senior designers and the Experience Design Lead with delivery and strategic initiatives, while also mentoring more junior designers where appropriate
Requirements:
Proven experience in a B2B SaaS environment as a UX/CX Designer
Ability to shape feature requirements through research, insight and collaboration with product and delivery teams
Strong ability to create low- and high-fidelity wireframes and prototypes to explore, test and communicate design solutions
Ability to manage deadlines effectively and confidently challenge or renegotiate timeframes with clear justification when required
Ability to communicate openly with the team about progress, risks or support needs, and to work independently with appropriate escalation
Ability to clearly articulate design ideas and rationale to a broad range of stakeholders, including senior and non-design audiences
Strong collaboration skills and experience working closely with other designers in both one-to-one and group settings
A proactive approach to learning new skills, tools and design approaches, and applying them in practice
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and shifting workloads in a fast-paced product environment
