As a Utility Worker, you’ll be involved in a variety of hands-on tasks supporting our operations. Your day-to-day work will include trench digging, cable and equipment installation, and moving materials across site. This is a physically active role that requires a strong work ethic and a commitment to safety. You’ll also play a key part in maintaining a safe and efficient work environment by identifying hazards, setting up sites in line with safe work practices, and ensuring all equipment is ready for the job.
Job Responsibility:
Carry out hazard identification and always ensure a safe worksite
Identify underground services and obstructions before work begins
Assist with trenching, cable installation, and general labouring tasks
Operate and maintain equipment as required
Work closely with your team to meet project goals and performance targets
Support team members and contribute to a positive team culture
Communicate clearly with your team and supervisors
Represent Northpower professionally when interacting with customers
Take responsibility for your own performance and contribute to team success
Requirements:
Full Class 1 & 2 driver licence's
Class 4 & 5 and tracks endorsement are advantageous
Truck Loader qualifications are advantageous
A strong safety record and a "safety-first" mindset
Good verbal and written communication skills
Previous experience reading and understanding plans, including underground obstruction layouts
