Job Description:

Position Rotates Seasonally: Roads (6 months) and Parks (6 months). Reporting to the Roads Supervisor, the Utility Tractor Operator is responsible for operating a utility tractor equipped with various attachments to complete seasonal road‑related duties. Reporting to the Parks Supervisor, the Operator will also perform seasonal parks‑related duties using a range of tractor attachments. The successful candidate will also be responsible for performing minor maintenance on tractors and related equipment, as well as assisting with general labourer tasks as required.

Job Responsibility:

  • Operating a utility tractor equipped with various attachments to complete seasonal road‑related duties
  • Grass cutting, road and sidewalk sweeping, sidewalk plowing and sanding, and pushing snow for removal
  • Performing seasonal parks‑related duties using a range of tractor attachments
  • Beach cleaning, raking, grass cutting, aeration and fertilization, and maintenance of ball fields and ice rinks
  • Performing minor maintenance on tractors and related equipment
  • Assisting with general labourer tasks as required

Requirements:

  • Grade 10 education or equivalent acceptable experience
  • Six (6) months experience in the operation of a utility tractor
  • Demonstrated ability in the operation of a skidsteer and trackless
  • Must be able to take instructions and carry them out without supervision
  • Must hold a valid Ontario class "D" driver's license with "Z" endorsement
