Job Responsibility

Produce CAD drawings for electricity, gas, water, and site investigations
Maintain drawing logs and project trackers
Keep electronic filing systems up to date with the latest documents
Request and process design information from developers
Handle MPAN’s, MPRN’s, BCA’s, SoW’s, adoption agreements, and legal updates
Identify and resolve problems, escalating when necessary
Support design and project completion teams with ad-hoc duties
Attend sites to survey utilities and resolve issues
Produce CAD as-laid drawings
Create tender drawings (training provided)

Job Responsibility

Inspect and verify our nation's overhead utilities
Serve as the customer's eyes on their resources
Perform safety audits, GIS mapping, and infrared surveying

Survey a set of poles within a geographic region each week
Work independently of direct supervision while coordinating with supervisor to plan routes

Formal Education/Knowledge: Utility Technician II: Work requires knowledge of a specific vocational, administrative, or technical nature that may be obtained with six-months/one year of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency. Community college, vocational, business, technical or correspondence schools are likely sources. Appropriate certification may be awarded upon satisfactory completion of advanced study or training. Utility Technician I: Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency.
Experience: Utility Technician II: Minimum two years experience in a related field. Utility Technician I: Minimum one year of experience in a related field.
Certifications and Other Requirements: Utility Technician II: Valid driver’s license, ADEQ Grade I Operator License in Distribution, and obtain a ADEQ Grade II Operator License in Distribution and obtain a Commercial Driver’s License within 12 months of hire. Job Responsibility

Provides direction and clarifies routine day-to-day priorities in the field. Provides input to supervisors regarding performance reviews for UT I and self.
Installs, maintains, replaces, and repairs water mains, water service connections, fire hydrants, valves, water meters and related appurtenances. Notifies customers of water service interruptions in accordance with Public Works policies and procedures. Requests and conducts utility locates in accordance with Arizona’s Bluestakes law. Locates water and wastewater infrastructure utilizing quarter section maps or electronic locators. Properly identifies Blue Stake marks and adheres to all Rules and Regulations that pertain to the Blue Stake program.
Assumes the duties and responsibilities of the Distribution Division Senior Technician as assigned during his/her absence.
