Job Responsibility:

Delivers outstanding customer service
Adheres to industry and City safety standards, policies, practices, and procedures
Executes routine and emergency operational, maintenance, and repair functions on equipment utilized in the water production division
Conducts daily inspections of water treatment facilities, production wells, booster stations, storage tanks, and related equipment
Reviews water production/demand lab results and assesses system condition
Takes water samples and makes field tests to confirm water treatment procedures and quality
Assumes the duties and responsibilities of the Production Division Senior Technician as assigned during his/her absence
Requirements:
Formal Education/Knowledge: Work requires knowledge of a specific vocational, administrative, or technical nature that may be obtained with six-months/one year of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency
Minimum two years' experience in a related field
Valid driver’s license
ADEQ Grade I Operator License in Water Treatment or Water Distribution and obtain a ADEQ Grade II Operator License in specific area of concentration within 12 months of hire
Work requires the ability to read written instructions, manuals, letters, and machine equipment readings, measurements, or gauges
Work requires the ability to perform general math calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and formulas
Work requires the ability to write letters, memos, and reports
Work requires the occasional direction of helpers, assistants, seasonal employees, interns, or temporary employees
Nice to have:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in the maintenance & operation of a water treatment or distribution system to include, the repair and operation of wells, boosters pumps, reservoirs, valves, altitude valves and instrumentation
Knowledge of basic RO and arsenic treatment facility operation
An ADEQ Water Treatment or Water Distribution Grade II certificate
