Job Description:

The Utility Polisher will work within a polish department able to perform polishing operations predetermined by the polishing department supervisor.

Job Responsibility:

  • Operate polishing wheels and other finishing tools to polish metal components to required specifications (bright, satin, or brushed finishes)
  • Inspect parts before and after polishing to ensure surface quality and proper finish
  • Identify and correct surface defects such as scratches, pits, or tool marks
  • Maintain polishing wheels, tools, and work area to ensure safe and effective operation
  • Handle metal parts with care to avoid scratches, dents, or contamination
  • Follow safety protocols, including the use of PPE such as gloves, eye protection, and dust masks

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in metal polishing or a similar production environment is strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with polishing wheels, compounds, and finishing techniques
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail

  • clean, dust, seep, mop, polish, scrub, wash, strip, and buff kitchen and pastry shop production areas and hallways
  • Clean and sanitize all pots, pans, and kitchen utensils using the correct cleaning and rinsing solutions
  • Safely set-up, clean, and utilize the silver burnishing machine to clean, polish, sort, and transport silver following a daily or weekly schedule
  • place damaged or excessively worn pieces in a designated area for repair
  • Safely utilize and store all cleaning compounds, chemicals, and materials including soaking solution utilizing the correct protective clothing
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors
