The Utilities Technician operates, maintains and ensures the safe and efficient functioning of all plant utility systems, including water treatment, boilers, compressors, cooling systems, HVAC, industrial gases (CO2/N2) and thermal energy networks. The role supports both preventive and corrective maintenance activities to keep all equipment running at optimal parameters in accordance with technical standards and legal requirements.
Job Responsibility:
Operate and maintain all utility equipment: wells, WWT, boiler room, compressor room, ventilation systems, chillers/cooling towers, heating/cooling circuits, industrial gas systems and water networks
Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance based on work orders, technical procedures and safety rules
Monitor technical parameters for compressed air, thermal agent systems, chilled water circuits, HVAC units and industrial gas installations
take corrective actions when deviations occur
Conduct routine checks including pH/durability for water quality, mechanical filter cleaning, pump verification, and daily equipment inspections
Identify mechanical or technical issues, troubleshoot root causes and propose improvements to reduce downtime (MTTR) and increase reliability (MTBF)
Follow strictly all ISCIR, SSM, PSI and internal safety procedures when handling pressure systems, gas installations or hazardous materials
Prepare the work area before interventions and ensure safe operating conditions
Provide support to cross‑functional teams, communicate issues promptly to the Utilities Supervisor and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Participate in mandatory training, maintain compliance with internal policies, quality systems (QMS, OHSAS, EMS, FSSC, EWS) and uphold company standards
Requirements:
Technical high school degree (mechanical, electromechanical, industrial equipment maintenance)
