We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Utilities Engineer with an Electrical Bias to support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all site utilities working rotating shifts Monday-Sunday 06:00-18:00/18:00-06:00. The role involves maintaining and improving plant services such as steam, compressed air, water systems, HVAC, and electrical infrastructure. We offer a starting salary of £55,167. We are keen to speak with experienced Utilities multiskilled Engineers who are looking for a meaningful new role within a fast-paced team. As a key member of our organisation, you will be pivotal in leading all aspects of the sustainability and evolution of utilities engineering processes. Collaborating closely with the operational maintenance & facilities department, you will ensure the reliable delivery of critical utilities systems to meet the needs of our end users.
Job Responsibility:
Diagnose and repair electrical faults on utilities plant and equipment
Maintain and troubleshoot control panels, MCCs, drives, and instrumentation
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical systems
Support upgrades, installations, and electrical projects
Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and regulations
To have the ability to read and understand electrical drawings and technical specifications
Maintain utilities including: Boilers and steam systems, Compressed air systems, Water treatment and RO systems, HVAC and ventilation systems, Sterilisers
Carry out fault finding, repair, and preventative maintenance
Support shutdown activities and major maintenance works
Identify root causes of failures and implement corrective actions
Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase reliability and efficiency
Assist with energy reduction and sustainability projects
Ensure all work complies with site SOPs, permits, and safety procedures
Participate in risk assessments, method statements, and audits
Maintain accurate maintenance records
Requirements:
Experienced engineer with electrical bias (NVQ Level 3 / HNC or equivalent)
Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Experience working with: Motors, drives, PLCs (basic fault finding)
Control systems and instrumentation
Experience within utilities / plant environment
Steam, water, HVAC, or compressed air systems
Excellent communication skills
Experience of working in a regulated environment
