Job Description

The User Interface/User experience Designer is a seasoned role, responsible for designing the visual elements and overall user experience of digital products, applications, and websites. This role works closely with business stakeholders, such as product managers and developers to create user-friendly and visually appealing interfaces that meet both user needs and business objectives.

Job Responsibility

  • Conducts user research to understand the target audience, their needs, preferences, and pain points
  • Creates wireframes and prototypes that outline the layout and basic structure of the product's interface, focusing on functionality and user interactions
  • Develops interactive prototypes to demonstrate the flow and functionality of the product and gathers feedback from stakeholders and potential users
  • Helps clients determine requirements for their projects and offering technical advice as and when required
  • Organizes and structures the content and information within the product to create a logical and intuitive user flow
  • Works with other engineers to develop new features or improve existing ones
  • Designs and develops user interfaces that are easy to use, aesthetically pleasing, and compatible with a variety of devices, including mobile phones and tablets
  • Conducts usability testing to validate the design and identify areas for improvement, making data-driven design decisions
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and other designers, to ensure the successful implementation of the design
  • Participate in meetings with clients/stakeholders to discuss project goals and update them on the project's status
  • Performs code reviews to ensure that new code is secure and efficient
  • Keeps up to date with the latest UI/UX design trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve design processes and deliver cutting-edge designs
  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of design systems and style guides to maintain consistency across different products and platforms
  • Performs any other related task as required

Requirements

  • Ability to code to create the interface for the website or application being designed (coding skills can include knowledge of programming languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript)
  • Ability to explain technical information to non-technical individuals
  • Excellent creativity to engage users and make an interface more appealing
  • Good critical thinking ability to troubleshoot issues and find ways to improve user experience and meet project objectives
  • Ability to work independently or within a team
  • Ability to work under pressure to achieve project deadlines within the agreed timeframe(s)
  • Client-centric, with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Seasoned understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, and responsive design
  • Ability to conduct user research and translate insights into actionable design solutions
  • Seasoned familiarity with usability testing methodologies and an iterative design approach
  • Seasoned knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Graphic design, or another related field or equivalent work experience
  • Relevant coding certifications such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, Package Managers (NPM) etc.
  • Seasoned experience in a similar role gained within a similar global information technology organization
  • Seasoned track record of involvement in innovation, design thinking, client and employee experience transformation
  • Seasoned experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design expertise and user-centric approach
