Job Description

GMC Southwest is part of the fast-growing Group 1 Automotive, a Fortune 250 leader in automotive retail. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Used Vehicle Acquisition Specialist to support our pre-owned vehicle growth by acquiring vehicles directly from the service drive. This role plays a critical part in increasing used vehicle inventory through customer engagement, trade-in opportunities, and stand-alone vehicle purchases. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, organized, comfortable working with sensitive documentation, and driven by performance-based earnings. Previous dealership experience is preferred, but we are open to training the right individual with strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Job Responsibility

  • Engage service drive customers to identify opportunities to purchase their vehicles
  • Acquire pre-owned vehicles through trades and stand-alone purchases
  • Contact customers via phone, email, and CRM follow-ups
  • Utilize CRM systems in the same manner as a traditional sales professional
  • Maintain accurate records involving customer private data and state documentation
  • Collaborate closely with sales management and used vehicle leadership
  • Build and manage a consistent acquisition pipeline
  • Ensure compliance with dealership processes and documentation requirements
  • Deliver a positive, professional customer experience throughout the acquisition process

Requirements

  • Previous automotive dealership experience preferred (sales, BDC, service, or acquisition)
  • Strong attention to detail, especially with documentation and customer information
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Comfortable working within CRM systems
  • Organized, dependable, and process-driven
  • Strong work ethic with motivation to earn through commissions
  • Ability to work Saturdays as required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Must pass background check, MVR, and drug screening
