Job Description:

At Vertu Renault Exeter, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Used Car Sales Manager to join our team at Renault Exeter. This is a key leadership role offering a basic salary of £45,000 with OTE up to £60,000, plus a company car and an excellent benefits package.

Job Responsibility:

  • Take full responsibility for leading and managing a structured, compliant used car sales operation
  • Oversee a team including Assistant Sales Managers, Sales Executives and support colleagues, providing hands‑on leadership through regular coaching, robust performance management and strong customer engagement
  • Lead and support your team to maximise used vehicle sales, alongside finance, GAP insurance and value‑added products, while consistently delivering outstanding customer satisfaction
  • Manage and execute sales campaigns and promotions, driving performance whilst upholding the highest ethical and professional standards

Requirements:

  • A full UK driving licence is required
  • Successful applicants will be subject to pre‑employment checks prior to starting, which may include verification of employment history, address and credit history, a criminal record check and a driving licence check
  • Deliver and exceed used car sales targets
  • Improve profitability, stock turn and operating efficiency
  • Lead, motivate and develop high‑performing sales teams
  • Strong leadership and people‑management skills are essential

  • Ensure deal structure meets bank approval guidelines & terms, LTV, Back-end allowance, Contract rate, Bank fees, etc., prior to contracting
  • Confirm and verify proof of insurance with customers, insurance agents, prior to contracting
  • Confirm and verify trade payoffs prior to contracting customers when applicable
  • Obtain and handle customer deposits/downpayments according to company policy and process
