An exciting role reporting to the EMEA and Bermuda Life Consulting Leadership working to shape the future of life actuarial consulting in EMEA.

Job Responsibility

  • You will advise clients across US and international life insurance markets — including term, whole life, annuity and protection writers — on the design, implementation, review and optimisation of reserving frameworks and reporting processes
  • Leading and/or supporting US GAAP reserving and reporting processes, including liability valuation, assumption setting and emerging experience analysis.

Requirements

  • Proven senior manager level delivery track record within life insurance or actuarial consulting, including experience presenting to senior stakeholders
  • Proven actuarial technical expertise — acts as a thought leader within the Life Consulting team, coaching other members and setting quality standards
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP reporting (including LDTI or equivalent frameworks) and US Statutory reserving (including VM 20 / PBR)
  • Ability to sponsor/shape reserving model development, automation and analytics (e.g., Python/R/SQL/Alteryx/Power BI)
  • Strong understanding of US life (re)insurance products and reserving methodologies, including term, protection and annuity business.

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual accounting close process including analytical review of operational results to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Ensure robust processes are in place over review of journal entries and account reconciliations that support the close process and period ending balances
  • Accountable for the monthly and quarterly review of key accounting processes, including the rebate and chargeback accruals, contra revenue adjustments, bad debt and loss pool reserves, and excess and obsolescence (E&O) reserves
