Aya Locums has an immediate opening for a 13 week locum Urology Physician job in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, paying $1,800/day - $2,200/day. Locum tenens urology positions are temporary assignments, often lasting weeks or months, to address staffing shortages in hospitals, surgical centers or other healthcare facilities. These positions offer competitive pay and flexible schedules, allowing urologists to pursue diverse work environments and control their workload.

Job Responsibility:

  • Diagnose, treat and manage urological disorders such as urinary tract infections, kidney stones and prostate issues
  • Perform various surgical interventions including cystoscopies, nephrectomies and prostatectomies
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Provide consultation services to other members of the medical team regarding critically ill patients
  • Provide patient education about conditions, treatment options and post-care management strategies
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records

Requirements:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
  • Residency training program in urology accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
  • Fellowship training in a urology specialty may be required
  • Board certification in urology by the American Board of Urology (ABU) or the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery (AOBS)
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in Pennsylvania
  • At least one year of experience providing care in a clinical setting
  • Strong expertise in performing a range of both surgical and non-surgical urological procedures
  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex medical information to patients
  • Strong analytical skills to diagnose complex urological conditions
  • Flexibility to adapt to new work environments and different medical teams
