Urgent Care: 24-bed unit; 58,361 annual patient visits; Unit closes at 11 p.m. daily; Low acuity patients; Scribe service available; Flexible scheduling; EPIC EMR; Physician double coverage is provided during peak times with daily APP coverage; Physician Shifts: Mon – Sat (8 & 9/hr hifts); APP Shifts: 10-12 hr shifts / flexible scheduling / No overnight shifts; Urgent Care is open 7 days/week

Requirements

  • Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of Urgent Care or Emergency Department practice experience, post-graduation to be considered
  • Texas License, DEA, ACLS, PALS, BLS are required

  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs
  • Whenever necessary to ensure best practice of evidence-based medicine, discusses case with sponsoring/supervising physician and/or other medical professional to prepare comprehensive patient care plan
  • Maintains open and clear communication with sponsoring/supervising physician(s)
  • Ability to confidently assess patient and formulate an appropriate treatment plan
  • Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures. Refers patients for consultation and continued medical care (PCP, specialty provider, outside healthcare provider) as appropriate
  • Effectively identifies, evaluates, and addresses disease prevention and health promotion issues of the population in the practice while administering quality patient care
