Job Description:

The Upstream Field Application Specialist at Cytiva is responsible for delivering product demonstrations, advanced hands‑on training and consulting to customers. This role is part of the Bioprocess Customer Application Support team based in Europe, supporting customers across EMEA.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support the sales process by advising during sales discussions, delivering presentations, and performing hands‑on cell culture demonstrations for Cytiva’s upstream product portfolio
  • Deliver advanced post‑installation training and consulting to customers, providing application support for bioreactor users
  • Provide input to Marketing, R&D, and Management, with a strong focus on customer feedback, market insights, and competitor practices
  • Participate in and support global initiatives in education, consulting, and technical support

Requirements:

  • University degree in Life Sciences (MSc or equivalent)
  • At least 3 years of experience in upstream processing within a large‑scale industrial environment
  • Experience from research, development, and manufacturing within pharma, biopharma, or biotech, with a strong focus on cell culture and bioreactors
  • Extensive hands‑on bioreactor experience at an expert level, preferably with single‑use bioreactors and mammalian cells, including experience in cell culture process development and scale‑up
  • Willing and able to travel up to 70%, primarily within Europe
  • Fluent in English

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of at least one additional European language
  • Hands-on experience of Cytiva’s Upstream product range
  • Experience with single-use mixers
