Job Description:

The objective of this position is to be a combined clinical and research post, providing direct operative experience and multidisciplinary clinics in the public system at the Austin hospital.

Job Responsibility:

  • Schedule operating lists, outpatient clinics, participate in general surgical on call roster and management of bariatric emergencies
  • Undertake dedicated bariatric research
  • Participate in bariatric clinics with multidisciplinary focus including medical, dietetics and psychology
  • Inpatient care of bariatric surgical patients including early and late complications

Requirements:

  • Registration as a Medical Practitioner with AHPRA
  • Appropriate training and experience applicable to the field of Upper GI
  • Hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or its equivalent
  • Demonstrated commitment to high quality patient care
