Job Description

Pink Tile Education is supporting a welcoming secondary school in Brighton in their search for a confident and adaptable Unqualified Teacher / Cover Supervisor to join their team in September. This is a full-time permanent position working across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes during teacher absence, delivering pre-set work, and supporting learning across a range of subjects, ensuring students remain engaged in a positive and structured learning environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Supervise whole classes during the absence of teaching staff
  • Deliver pre-set work and ensure students remain on task throughout lessons
  • Where appropriate, lead learning activities and support students in understanding tasks
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
  • Maintain a calm, safe, and focused learning environment
  • Provide guidance and support to students during lessons when needed
  • Report any issues, concerns, or incidents to relevant staff
  • Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by teaching staff
  • Support the wider school team as required
  • Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote positive student behaviour at all times

Requirements

  • Experience working with young people in a school or educational setting is desirable
  • Confident in leading a classroom environment, with strong behaviour management skills
  • Calm, professional, and adaptable under pressure
  • Ability to engage and motivate students to remain on task
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and follow instructions effectively
