You’ll spend a lot of time focused on operating computer control systems for unloading trains and operating an unloading facility, so strong concentration and attention to detail are essential. The work can be repetitive at times, so we’re after someone who can stay engaged, maintain accuracy, and show initiative to keep busy during quieter periods. This role operates on 12-hour shifts (0500–1700 and 1700–0500) as part of a 24/7 roster. This is a 5-month maternity leave coverage role, until May 2026.

  • Communicate clearly via radio with traincrew and operational staff to coordinate safe train movements
  • Support inventory management, product sampling, data entry, and record-keeping
  • Inspect and report faults on plant and equipment within the Antiene Unloading Facility
  • Assist Aurizon teams during outage days, including safety inspections and coordinating on-site maintenance activities
  • Perform manual and hands-on tasks as needed in the outdoor areas of the facility

Requirements:

  • Able to concentrate for extended periods and remain focused during repetitive tasks
  • Happy working in a blended office/outdoor environment and comfortable getting your hands dirty
  • Shows initiative — keeps busy and looks for tasks during slower periods
  • Strong safety mindset with great attention to detail
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident operating computer systems
  • Able to safely operate motor vehicles
  • Comfortable working 12-hour rotating shifts, including early starts, nights, weekends, and public holidays
  • C Class Driver’s Licence
  • Strong team player who can work across different group
