Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses kept by An Bord Altranais or be entitled to be so registered
Have at least 1 year of post-registration experience preferably in the area of care for older persons
Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development at the appropriate level
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
Genuine interest in working with the relevant client group
Satisfactory Garda Vetting

Job Responsibility

Ensure that all Staff Members contribute to the efficient running of the Unit
Report any ill health among residents and make requests for GP/Professional visits
Ensure each resident has individualised Care Plans that are completed and maintained
Actively promote and encourage opportunities for independence
Assess all aspects of residents’ care needs
Regular checks on residents at intervals
Administer prescribed medication
Practice maximum integrity in all dealings with Residents’ personal and financial affairs
Participate in Staff and Resident meetings
Establish and maintain good communication
