The Public Service Association of South Australia (PSA), together with the Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU), is the principal union representing South Australian public sector workers. The PSA is entering a new phase of leadership with a clear objective: to re-establish itself as one of the most effective, visible and powerful unions in South Australia – winning for members, shaping public debate and the future of the public sector. This role is all about people – developing and mentoring Worksite Representatives, fostering activism and empowering members to become confident workplace leaders. You'll be on the ground—building membership, strengthening worksites, supporting to turn workplace issues into collective action and leading campaigns that create tangible change. Requirements:

  • Experienced, motivated and high performing Union Organiser
  • For Senior Organisers : Ability to provide training, mentorship and support to both WSR's, HSR's and Organisers
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans to grow union membership and engage workers in active campaigns (as we will be gearing up campaigning for the next Salaried EA)
  • Passionate with the capacity to grow the Union membership and build effective workplace structures
  • Ability to identify collective issues and develop industrial strategies in response
  • Inspired with the ability to inspire and build workplace activism and leadership
  • Ability to work with members and Worksite Representatives to resolve workplace issues collectively
  • Able to implement innovative and effective member attraction and retention strategies
  • Ability to articulate and represent the organisation's vision
  • An understanding of SA industrial relations legislation and how to apply it to the benefit of members
  • A great communicator with exceptional stakeholder relationship management skills
  • Current SA drivers licence
