Job Description

Under the direction of the Chief Engineer, the Mobile Engineer's primary responsibility is to provide joint supervision of the Engineering Department Staff and to help manage all operations, maintenance activities & support as needed by the Engineering Team. This would include but is not limited to the management and delegation of PMs, repairs and vendor support on building systems and equipment included in the scope of work associated with the contract between JLL and the client. This is a position attached to the Collective Bargaining Agreement between JLL and the International Union of Operating Engineers – Local 39.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide technical advice, expertise, encouragement and instruction to all subordinates
  • Perform all plumbing, electrical, or HVAC tasks required in any of the client buildings
  • Maintains all heating equipment, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, Fan Coil Units, VAV and air distribution systems, etc.
  • Inspect Building Systems including Fire Alarm Panels/Systems, HVAC Equipment and plumbing systems
  • Verifies field conditions and performs repairs or adjustments as necessary
  • Monitors and interacts with Energy Management System/BMS Systems onsite
  • Proficient in Reading and Interpreting blueprints, Single Line Diagrams, Specifications, O&M manuals
  • Performs PM assignments as directed by the Chief Engineer
  • Assists other team members in maintenance and repair efforts
  • Inspection, maintenance and repair of Electrical Systems & Distribution, Fire Alarm Systems, Plumbing Systems, Doors, all lighting
  • Ability to troubleshoot and isolate problems down to the root cause
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, electrical testing equipment
  • Perform rounds and readings checking all site equipment & systems
  • Must know how to install, align and perform repair activities to equipment such as motors, bearings, seals, valves, piping systems
  • All Engineers are expected to respond to all Emergencies on site
  • The position requires good documentation & communication skills
  • Position requires good customer service skills
  • Will operate site vehicles safely and maintain the vehicles in a clean and orderly state
  • All Engineers are expected to follow the JLL Uniform Dress Code
  • Complies with all JLL/Google/Regulatory policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials

  • Must also support and help maintain a clean and safe workplace at all times

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience
  • Universal CFC (EPA) License
  • High Rise Fire Safety Director Certification
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to problem solve down to the root cause
  • Must be highly organized with excellent attention to detail
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Nice to have

  • Local 39 Apprenticeship Program
  • 10+ years of related trade schooling or equivalent
  • Any Electrical, HVAC or Professional Engineering License
