Join JLL's facilities team at Rush Medical Center as a Union HVAC Technician, where you'll play a critical role in maintaining and repairing complex HVAC and refrigeration systems in a large healthcare facility. Job Responsibility:
Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, electric, and electronic HVAC controls and equipment using proper testing equipment
Perform complete charging and start-up procedures for large chiller systems
Diagnose and repair HVAC electrical components on chillers, rooftops, and fan units
Rebuild and repair pumps and compressors to manufacturer specifications
Work from technical drawings, manuals, and schematics to complete maintenance and repair tasks
Investigate and remedy HVAC system problems and malfunctions independently
Document all maintenance activities and ensure compliance with JLL and Rush policies
Requirements:
Valid CFC (Chlorofluorocarbon) Certification
Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC refrigeration experience
Proven expertise in troubleshooting complex HVAC systems in large facilities
Strong problem-solving skills with ability to work independently
Experience with pneumatic, electric, and electronic control systems
Knowledge of chiller systems, rooftops, fan units, and related equipment
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and equipment manuals
Nice to have:
Experience in healthcare or institutional facilities
Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS)
Familiarity with energy management and optimization practices
Understanding of refrigeration cycle principles and applications
