Job Description:

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Underwriting Consultant to assess risk, make impactful decisions, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver strong client outcomes. Job Responsibility:

  • Assess and evaluate life insurance applications (medical, financial, lifestyle)
  • Determine risk classification, coverage, and pricing decisions
  • Analyze complex cases and supporting documentation
  • Collaborate with advisors and internal teams to deliver timely decisions
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulations
  • Contribute to process improvements and team best practices

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of individual life underwriting experience
  • $3M+ life underwriting signing authority
  • Strong knowledge of medical, financial, and risk assessment
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Nice to have:

  • Bilingual FR/ENG is an asset
  • Experience with reinsurers is an asset
  • Industry designations (FALU, FLMI, etc.) are an asset
