Job Responsibility:

  • Risk Assessment: Evaluating medical and financial profiles of applicants to determine appropriate coverage terms and conditions for life and health policies
  • Underwriting Authority: Executing underwriting decisions within established delegated limits while maintaining consistency with internal standards and prevailing market trends
  • Case Management: Reviewing high-complexity cases involving multiple medical conditions or intricate risk factors to determine insurability
  • End-to-End Processing: Managing the full lifecycle of customer requests and policy applications to ensure timely and accurate completion of underwriting tasks
  • Stakeholder Advisory: Providing technical support and underwriting expertise to Financial Consultants regarding policy requirements and risk decisions
  • Project Participation: Contributing to ad hoc initiatives and process improvement projects aimed at enhancing underwriting efficiency and operational excellence

Requirements:

  • 2 to 5 years of underwriting experience specifically within the life insurance sector
  • A degree in Nursing, Biomedical Science, or Biomedical Engineering
  • Knowledge of medical conditions, insurance laws, regulations, and life and health insurance products
  • Attainment of or progress toward ACII, ANZIIF, ALU, or LOMA certifications
  • Effective communication skills for interaction with stakeholders and distribution partners
  • Ability to use the Microsoft Office suite for daily reporting and administrative tasks
