Job Description:

This role involves driving revenue growth and underwriting quality within the commercial lines segment by leveraging key distribution channels such as bancassurance and financial advisers. You will be responsible for product design and providing technical advisory to support the development of holistic insurance propositions for commercial clients.

Job Responsibility:

  • Risk Underwriting: Evaluating and underwriting commercial policies within established risk appetites while determining appropriate pricing and risk mitigation strategies
  • Product Development: Contributing to the creation of new insurance initiatives, including product design, policy wording reviews, and the development of product guides for business development purposes
  • Market Expansion: Designing new opportunities to deliver commercial line products to emerging customer segments and analyzing competitor activities to identify growth areas
  • Technical Training: Conducting regular training sessions for underwriting staff to enhance product knowledge and improve technical risk management standards
  • Stakeholder Advisory: Providing technical service and advisory to key commercial clients and partners, ensuring the resolution of inquiries and issues within the distribution network
  • Team Mentorship: Coaching team members on specific cases and deals to ensure cohesive operations and the achievement of departmental objectives

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in general insurance, particularly in the area of commercial insurance
  • Understanding of the insurance industry, including regulations and market dynamics
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport and relationships with partners and customers
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software
  • People management and coaching skills
