Job Description:

On behalf of our client, Lawes consulting have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Underwriter to join their New Business team. This role will achieve income and profit objectives through the delivery of an efficient case underwriting service to brokers, supporting the technical management of the regional account in conjunction with the regional strategy, financial plan and personal objectives.

Job Responsibility:

  • Drive New Business growth by adhering to risk selection, appetite, and authority guidelines
  • Follow the 4 Call Process rigorously to capitalize on emerging opportunities
  • Attain Bottom Line, Top Line, and Expense targets through effective management and adherence to Key Performance Indicators
  • Establish and foster robust personal relationships with key directors and staff at pivotal brokerages to bolster local presence
  • Demonstrate adept negotiation skills to facilitate conversions and cultivate relationships with key brokers
  • Continuously update and expand personal knowledge of pertinent technical issues
  • Contribute to the Company’s technical expertise by providing feedback on technical and commercial market insights to the Regional Director and wider team
  • Collaborate closely with other departments, particularly claims and survey teams, as needed
