Job Description

Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran (TSX:ELD) is seeking an Underground Mine Superintendent to join our expanding McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working a 14/14 rotation. Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran is advancing the McIlvenna Bay project, a cornerstone asset and one of the most significant copper development projects in Canada. With commercial production expected in mid-2026, this world-class deposit contains copper, zinc, gold, and silver – key metals for the global transition to green energy. As part of the Mine Management Team, this position oversees and manages mining activities to ensure the safe, productive, and efficient operation of the mine site. This role involves leading and coordinating mining crews, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and contributing to the achievement of production targets.

Job Responsibility

  • Promote and enforce safety policies and procedures for all Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan and contractor employees
  • Conduct safety meetings, hazard assessments, and incident investigations as required
  • Lead and support miners, equipment operators, and support staff through training, guidance, and performance feedback
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Develop and execute production plans and schedules to optimize ore extraction and minimize downtime
  • Coordinate mining activities with drilling, blasting, and maintenance teams to achieve production targets
  • Allocate equipment, resources, and manpower to support efficient mining operations
  • Ensure equipment maintenance schedules are followed to maximize equipment availability
  • Ensure compliance with mining regulations, environmental standards, and health and safety requirements
  • Maintain accurate operational and regulatory records and documentation
  • Oversee ore handling activities to maintain ore quality and integrity
  • Coordinate ore stockpile management and transportation with processing teams
  • Support the development and management of the mining department budget
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and support cost control initiatives
  • Promote environmental stewardship and reduce mining-related environmental impacts
  • Implement reclamation and environmental restoration best practices
  • Develop and maintain mine emergency response plans and procedures
  • Ensure all personnel are trained in emergency response protocols
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and mining processes

  • 10+ years of mining industry experience in progressively responsible roles
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience within mining operations
