Job Description:

Peabody are currently seeking Outbye Underground Fitters to join our Centurion underground mine, Our Centurion mine is located 160 kilometres west of Mackay. This position is offered on a 7:7 day/night roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah) DIDO or FIFO lifestyle.

Job Responsibility:

Carry out personal risk assessment, hazard identification and other safety requirements relevant to the role
Work to “Best Practice” techniques to ensure that equipment is maintained to a high safety, productive and reliable standard
Compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements
Participate in site continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements:

Trade qualifications
Minimum of 2 years in underground coal mining
Ability to work effectively in a team, coupled with strong communication skills
Operation of underground equipment as required
A demonstrated commitment to safety and the ability to work effectively in a team are key requirements of the role
Commitment to high performance standards
Genuine commitment to safety and demonstrate a sound understanding of risk and hazard identification
Exceptional team member with a flexible attitude and sound work ethic
