Job Description

Our client, a prominent private family based in Sulaymaniyah, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, is seeking an experienced Under Butler for their newly built 10-bedroom villa. With established business interests in construction, brick manufacturing, and cement, the family is well regarded across the region and maintains an international outlook, with property investments in Europe and a London-based eldest son. The residence is a high-spec private villa, and the family is assembling a professional household team to operate to international standards. The role includes private on-site accommodation and full visa sponsorship at no cost. This is an excellent long-term opportunity for an experienced private household professional seeking a well-compensated position with a forward-thinking family.

Job Responsibility

  • provide personal and table service for all meals and beverages, including formal silver service when required
  • prepare table settings, buffet layouts and bar set-ups in accordance with established household standards
  • assist with guest arrival and departure, including door greeting, luggage coordination with drivers and refreshment service
  • support wardrobe and packing tasks for family travel when requested
  • cross-train to cover basic housekeeping checks in all guest-facing areas and provide support during events, emergencies or staff absence
  • raise any maintenance issues promptly with the Maintenance Supervisor
  • assist with weekly, six-monthly and annual audit checks on all front-of-house assets, in coordination with the Head Butler

Requirements

  • previous butler or personal service experience in a luxury private household, five-star hotel or superyacht environment
  • present impeccably and demonstrate exceptional grooming and professional communication standards at all times
  • be highly flexible with working hours and willing to adapt duties as required
  • have a good working knowledge of wines, spirits and beverages
  • be exceptionally attentive to detail and deeply committed to discretion and confidentiality
  • have experience assisting at large private events of up to 100 guests
  • be comfortable in a cross-cultural environment and fluent in English
  • be physically fit and present to a high standard at all times
  • be willing to live on-site and work collaboratively as part of a professional household team
  • candidates new to Iraq are preferred
