Job Description

The job holder is responsible for the QA/QC activities during the manufacturing of the dynamic and static Umbilicals at Vendor Premises in Brazil. The scope includes the fabrication of the umbilical, the subsea and/or topside terminations assembly, the integration of all the ancillaries (DBSC, bend stiffeners, bend restrictors, pulling heads etc…), the FAT and SIT of the umbilical, the load out operations and all the tests to be performed in parallel.

Job Responsibility

  • Comply with the HSE training required for his position
  • Adopt and to demonstrate an exemplary behavior regarding Company Ethics and “Code of Conduct” policy and HSE rules and regulations
  • STOP the work when and wherever necessary (if he identifies an immediate risk for the personnel, environment or asset)
  • Timely review and approval of VENDOR QC reports
  • Ensure QC is performed according to ITP
  • Ensure FAT/SIT tests are performed according to procedures and results within the acceptable ranges
  • Ensure welding and NDT are performed according to the qualified and approved procedures
  • Ensure rigorous follow-up and logging of QC activities on-site by VENDOR and CONTRACTOR
  • Witness, as far as practicable, all the inspection points identified in the ITPs (covering, but not limited to, umbilical fabrication, integration, packing, verification testing)
  • Follow Umbilical Sub-Vendor ancillaries fabrication activities
  • Follow reception of CPI items from SPS CTR, raw material and ancillaries items
  • Perform regular random inspections on-site
  • Identify technical, fabrication or resources bottleneck which could lead to schedule slippage
  • Raise any concerns regarding quality of the umbilical
  • Clarify with engineering team if some requirements are not well defined
  • Raise and follow-up closure of non-conformities at-site
  • Review and endorse the reports/records that are compiled for the final documentation
  • Ensure adequate and timely reporting to SURF Team, on a daily and weekly basis, depending of the activities
  • Ensure the follow-up of tracking of welding performance, anomalies, non-conformities by the Umbilical Vendor and maintain required QC indicators (KPI's) for the project activities
  • Gather ‘lessons learnt’ and provide feedback to other COMPANY entities as required

Requirements

  • Professional Experience (years): min 10 years in the Oil and Gas Industry
  • Experience in similar position (years): mini 5 years in similar role
  • Level / Diploma: Education to HNC level or above in an Engineering discipline or equivalent
  • Experience in umbilical manufacturing
  • Vocational qualifications: TWI/CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent (IIW/IWI-B, PCN/WI/01, etc.), advanced and conventional NDT qualifications minimum level II as per ISO 9712, NACE/FROSIO level II optional
  • Languages: English and Portuguese mandatory
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of Total Energies GS referential is a plus
