Job Description:

Position involves performing ultrasound procedures, ensuring patient safety, maintaining records, and staying current with skills in a hospital/clinical setting.

Job Responsibility:

  • Positioning of patients and proper selection of technical factors and equipment to obtain scans of optimal quality
  • Securing pertinent history from the patient for each procedure
  • Compliance with established safety standards
  • Documentation for department records
  • Keeping abreast of current ultrasound skills and new developments
  • Instruction and assistance as required by students or fellow technologists

Requirements:

  • ARDMS Registered
  • Possess 3-5 years experience in a hospital or clinical setting
  • Knowledge and ability to perform all types of ultrasound procedures offered at HTMP including vascular studies
  • Possess high degree of technical knowledge to perform basic ultrasound studies
  • Able to make diagnostic judgments when scanning and present them to the Radiologist for interpretation
  • Effective communication skills
  • CPR Certification
  • ARDMS Registered in Abdomen and OB/Gyne
  • RVT or RVT Eligible/Proficient
  • Ability to adjust to flexible hours at minimum notice as required
  • Ability to work odd hours (late hours)
  • Able to work weekends
  • Ability to perform lifting activities related to patients
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance
