Ultrasound Tech

• Positioning of patients and proper selection of technical factors and equipment to obtain scans of optimal quality
• Operate portable ultrasound equipment as required
• Assist physicians with various recommendations for obtaining optimal studies
• Documentation of Department records
• Maintain correct patient records
• Prepare Ultrasound rooms
• Know and operate hospital computer systems
• Secure pertinent medical history from the patient
• Work closely with the radiologist
• Maintain positive attitude when dealing with a patient, fellow employee or any personnel
• Comply with established hospital safety standards
• Keep abreast of current skills and developments in the field of ultrasound
• Instruct and help students or fellow technologists orienting in ultrasound

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
• Eligible for ARDMS registry
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical scanning
• ARDMS Registered or ARDMS registry eligible if within 24 months of graduation from an approved sonography program
• CPR certification
• Ability to adjust to flexible hours at minimal notice
• Ability to work odd hours (late hours on-call)
• Ability to respond to emergency call back in minimal time
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to constantly view video display screen during exam
• Ability to perform lifting activities related to patients
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance
