Under supervision, performs and records all sonographic procedures and assists with some specialty procedures in accordance with established departmental guidelines and protocols. Operates various types of ultrasound equipment, transducers, and recording devices. Recognizes normal and pathological conditions and modifies the exam accordingly to ensure complete and accurate high quality information is obtained. Prepares and positions patient for procedure by using established Ultrasound protocols to achieve the highest quality image. Reviews, verifies and evaluates images to ensure excellent image quality. Trouble shoots and resolves ultrasound related PACS issues. Participates in performance improvement projects within the department. Floats within department as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Duties are to be performed at a Practitioner Level. Floats to specialty unit (if qualified). Assists with mentoring of junior ultrasound technologists and students as needed. Assists other ultrasound technologists with difficult procedures that require advanced skills.

Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or equivalent years of experience
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in AB or OB/GYN, must obtain within 5 months of hire
Must have (RDMS) in AB and OB/GYN to be considered as a Sr. Ultrasound Tech
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date
Recent experience in a similar role and setting
A minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience is required at the Sr. Ultrasound Tech level and four (4) years experience is required at the Principal Ultrasound Tech level
Excellent communication skills and demonstrated computer skills
Possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position
