Job Description

JLL is seeking a dynamic London Metro & UK Engineering Lead to oversee engineering operations across our critical building portfolio throughout London and the wider UK region. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker who can drive operational excellence while fostering a workplace experience-led culture that puts our clients at the center of everything we do. The successful candidate will leverage cutting-edge technology and digital solutions to optimise building performance and enhance occupant experiences, with particular focus on delivering exceptional service across three flagship London properties

Job Responsibility

  • Lead and develop a diverse team of engineers, technicians, and coordinate with external vendors to deliver exceptional service across the UK portfolio
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement and professional development
  • Implement strategic workforce planning to ensure optimal resource allocation across multiple sites and client requirements
  • Develop and execute comprehensive engineering strategies for three key flagship buildings in Central London
  • Oversee the efficient performance, maintenance, and operations of all engineering systems within client-owned properties
  • Provide engineer support across Europe when required to ensure asset and building operation
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards across all managed facilities
  • Drive preventive maintenance programs and implement best practices to maximize system reliability and minimize downtime
  • Monitor key performance indicators and implement corrective actions to meet or exceed service level agreements
  • Coordinate with London-specific regulatory bodies including City of London Corporation, local borough councils, and Historic England where applicable
  • Champion the implementation of smart building technologies, IoT sensors, and advanced building management systems to optimize performance
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives including predictive maintenance programs, automated monitoring systems, and data analytics platforms
  • Oversee integration of mobile technologies, cloud-based solutions, and digital work order management systems

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, or related field) or equivalent technical qualification
  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in building engineering operations with at least 3-5 years in management roles
  • Proven track record of managing complex, multi-site engineering operations preferably within London commercial real estate market
  • Demonstrated experience implementing technology solutions in premium building operations environments
  • Specific experience with Grade A office buildings and mixed-use developments in major metropolitan areas
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, security, and building automation systems
  • Strong understanding of smart building technologies, IoT platforms, and integrated building management systems
  • Experience with cloud-based maintenance management systems (CMMS), mobile applications, and digital work order platforms
  • Knowledge of data analytics, performance monitoring software, and energy management technologies
