Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for a Intermediate or Senior UI Engineer to join the development of a new IP. Feed your creativity while collaborating with our team of highly skilled developers to build something innovative, exhilarating, and expansively entertaining! As an Intermediate or Senior UI Engineer, you will drive innovation and quality in our UI systems, from the code itself, right up to what’s onscreen, guiding, delighting and entertaining our players with the gamepad in their hands. You will collaborate closely with engineering, art and design teams to deliver solutions that push the boundaries of what's possible in gaming. As a member of the project, you’ll help take the studio and our game from great to even better; with a focus on inclusivity, mutual respect (for ourselves and our players), thoughtfulness, empathy, professionalism, and collaboration.

Job Responsibility

  • Collaborating on UI systems and contributing to the tooling and scripting systems to support them
  • Actively collaborating with design, engineering and content teams to learn and understand their needs, helping to realize the UI components that bring features to life
  • Supporting colleagues and maintaining excellence in contributions to our technology and culture, enthusiastically seeking help, code reviews, and advice

Requirements

  • Demonstrable skills in architecting extensible and stable UI systems
  • Solid knowledge of working and debugging in C++
  • Strong communication skills for sharing ideas clearly at a range of technical levels, learning from others, and giving meaningful feedback
  • Experience collaborating across disciplines, from engineering to design and art
  • A strong desire to iterate and gather feedback from colleagues, with a positive drive to improve the quality of the features you own
  • An appetite for playing modern video games and breaking down the technical ideas behind what feels “good” and understandable for players in UI systems
  • Experience shipping AAA titles

Nice to have

  • Experience with UI middleware systems
  • Experience interacting with scripting systems to expose functionality in collaboration with technical design teams
