As part of the Public 5G Global Technology Center (GTC), the UDM and HSS Delivery Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end delivery and operation of HPE mobile core network solutions, including 5G network functions (AUSM, UDM, UDR, UDSF) and 4G I-HSS components. The role ensures seamless integration of these solutions into customer core networks, covering design preparation, deployment, system optimization, production launch, and post-launch support. The engineer acts as a key technical interface between customers, partners, and internal HPE teams, driving delivery execution and resolving technical challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
Job Responsibility:
Deploy, test, and troubleshoot 5G network functions (AUSM, UDM, UDR, UDSF) and 4G I-HSS components (HLR, EPS-HSS, IMS-HSS, EIR, MNP)
Deliver and operate mission-critical production systems in line with reliability, availability, and risk-management best practices
Perform system and infrastructure tuning to meet performance, reliability, and security requirements
Ensure security-driven delivery aligned with security best practices
Monitor, assess, and remediate security vulnerabilities, including validation and rollout of security patches in production environments
Plan and execute software upgrades and lifecycle activities for production systems
Drive end-to-end solution delivery in coordination with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders
Manage services during production launch and oversee deployed production solutions
Monitor system health, performance, and capacity using monitoring and observability tools to proactively identify operational risks
Investigate and resolve production incidents and drive root cause analysis
Handle customer acceptance and internal testing, both remotely and on-site
Ensure delivery quality through automated testing and regression validation
Drive case management and prioritization in collaboration with product stakeholders to meet customer and project requirements
Execute production changes following established change and risk-management processes
Demonstrate strong ownership and autonomous delivery with minimal supervision
Produce and maintain delivery and operational documentation to support system lifecycle and handover
Deliver workshops for project handover and knowledge transfer
Mentor junior team members
Contribute to continuous improvement of delivery, operational, and observability practices
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
Minimum 8 years of experience in telecom
Telecom and networking experience (4G/5G Mobile Core Networks, 3GPP standards)
Cloud-native and virtualization experience
Good written and spoken English
Experience working with mobile core network products, including HLR, HSS, and UDM
Experience in end-to-end HSS/UDM delivery
Experience operating mission-critical production systems
Strong knowledge of 3GPP standards and subscriber call flows for 3G/4G/5G core networks
Cloud-native experience with platforms such as Red Hat OpenShift and Azure Operator Nexus
Experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm)
Experience with observability and monitoring tools (e.g. Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/Kibana, distributed tracing such as Jaeger)
Virtualization experience with Red Hat KVM and VMware/vSphere
Strong Linux system administration skills
End-to-end performance optimization expertise across the full stack (hardware and BIOS, virtualization layer, and application level) is a strong plus
Working knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
Strong understanding of security principles and best practices
Experience with infrastructure tuning and optimization
Experience in application test automation (Simulap experience is a plus)
Ability to work under high workload peaks and tight deadlines
Flexibility to support production launches, including off-hours and cross-time-zone collaboration
High adaptability to cross-cultural and global working environments
