Job Description

For a structured and well-organized meat processing company, we are recruiting Turkey Handlers in Lendelede, West Flanders. The company specializes in poultry products and operates both in domestic and international markets, including Belgium, the Netherlands, France, the UK, and the Middle East.

Job Responsibility

  • Animal Handling: Humanely and efficiently remove live turkeys from transport cages or conveyors
  • Shackling: Securely place the turkeys by their legs onto the moving shackle line, maintaining a consistent and steady pace to support production targets
  • Quality & Welfare Control: Monitor birds for signs of distress and ensure they are handled gently and correctly secured in compliance with strict animal welfare guidelines
  • Hygiene and Safety: Follow all stringent food safety, hygiene, and biosecurity protocols for the handling area. This includes wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Area Maintenance: Assist in keeping the live receiving area and surrounding workspace clean, organized, and free of debris
  • Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure a smooth, continuous flow of the production line

Requirements

  • Physical Stamina: Must be able to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting and grasping turkeys, for extended periods while standing in a cold, damp, or wet environment
  • Safety Focus: A keen awareness of workplace safety and commitment to following all company and industry safety regulations
  • Good level of english
  • Previous experience in a food production, meat processing, or agricultural/farm setting
  • Familiarity with production line work or high-volume repetitive tasks
