A law firm in Midtown Manhattan is seeking an experienced Trusts & Estates Paralegal to support attorneys with estate administration and estate planning matters. This role is integral to managing the probate process, preparing legal documents, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple matters simultaneously while providing excellent client service.
Job Responsibility:
Manage the estate administration process from initiation through final closing
Prepare and file probate petitions, court forms, and related documents
Communicate with courts, clients, beneficiaries, and other involved parties throughout the administration process
Conduct legal research related to probate laws, regulations, and relevant case law
Review legal documents including wills, trusts, and estate planning instruments
Draft correspondence, affidavits, and other legal documents
Communicate with clients to obtain information and provide status updates regarding estate matters
Assist with the management and distribution of estate assets, including financial accounts, real estate, and personal property
Coordinate with financial institutions, appraisers, and other third-party professionals involved in estate administration
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal estate administration laws
Draft estate planning documents, including Powers of Attorney, Health Care Proxies, and Disposition of Remains appointments
Draft and assist with recording deeds
Collaborate with attorneys and staff to maintain efficient case management and workflow
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited institution
