Our client, a successful full-service law firm, is seeking a Trusts & Estates Paralegal to join their team in Boston, Massachusetts. In this role, you will collaborate with attorneys to ensure the efficient administration of estate and probate matters. The position requires expertise in managing probate cases and a strong ability to handle complex legal documentation and processes.
Job Responsibility:
Draft and file probate petitions and related court pleadings
Prepare notices, inventories, accountings, and other required probate filings
E-file and manage documents in Probate Court
Monitor court deadlines and ensure compliance with statutory requirements
Assist estate administrators and executors with all phases of estate administration
Coordinate the collection and valuation of estate assets
Prepare and organize financial documentation, including income and estate-related documents
Assist with preparation of estate accountings and settlement documentation
Coordinate distribution of estate assets to beneficiaries
Communicate with clients, beneficiaries, financial institutions, and court personnel
Maintain detailed case management records and organize electronic and physical files
Support attorneys with research related to probate procedures and requirements
Requirements:
5+ years of paralegal experience preferred in trusts & estates and probate
Direct experience drafting and filing probate petitions and court pleadings required
Strong knowledge of probate procedures and estate administration processes
Experience assisting estate administrators/executors throughout estate settlement
Familiarity with estate accounting and asset distribution procedures
Proficiency in e-filing systems and court procedures
Experience with document management systems and case management software
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple probate matters simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential financial information
