Job Description

Robert Half is looking for an experienced Trusts and Estates Attorney with a strong background in estate planning and tax law to join a growing firm in their Milwaukee, Madison, or Chicago office. This role involves advising high-net-worth individuals and families, including business executives, athletes with attention to detail, and entertainers, on complex estate and tax matters. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of handling sophisticated estate planning strategies and tax audits.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide expert counsel on estate planning strategies, including asset protection and gift tax planning
  • Prepare federal estate tax returns for taxable estates and gift tax returns with precision
  • Represent estates, trusts, and individuals during estate tax and gift tax audits
  • Collaborate with clients to develop tailored estate plans that align with their financial goals and legal requirements
  • Co-manage a team of attorneys and paralegals, including recruitment, policy implementation, and team coordination
  • Develop and refine legal forms and documentation to ensure compliance and efficiency
  • Organize and lead team meetings to discuss case strategies and office procedures
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of estate and tax law to provide accurate and effective legal advice
  • Build strong relationships with clients to foster trust and long-term partnerships

Requirements

  • Licensed Attorney with active bar membership
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in estate planning and tax law
  • Comprehensive knowledge of gift tax strategies and asset protection
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare federal estate and gift tax returns
  • Proven experience advising high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and executives
  • Strong leadership and management skills to co-lead a team effectively
  • Exceptional organizational and communication abilities
  • Ability to stay informed about changes in estate and tax regulations
