We are looking for an experienced Trust & Estate Attorney to join our growing team in Buffalo, New York. This role provides an exciting opportunity to engage in complex estate planning and administration matters while contributing to a highly regarded practice. You will work collaboratively with senior attorneys to deliver tailored solutions for a diverse clientele, including individuals, families, and businesses.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and implement comprehensive estate plans, including drafting wills, trusts, and healthcare directives
Design various trust structures, such as revocable, irrevocable, and supplemental needs trusts
Manage estate and trust administration tasks, including probate proceedings and fiduciary accountings
Advise clients on business succession planning strategies for closely held companies
Provide guidance on estate and gift tax planning to optimize client outcomes
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through regular communication and attention to detail
Collaborate with attorneys across practice areas to deliver integrated legal solutions
Conduct legal research and stay informed on developments in trust and estate law
Assist in resolving trust and estate-related disputes when necessary
Support senior attorneys in managing client matters efficiently and effectively.
Requirements:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Active admission to the New York State Bar
A minimum of 6-10 years of experience in Trust & Estates law, including estate planning and administration
Proficiency in drafting legal documents with strong analytical skills
Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
Familiarity with estate planning and gift tax laws.
