Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Trust & Estate Attorney to join our growing team in Buffalo, New York. This role provides an exciting opportunity to engage in complex estate planning and administration matters while contributing to a highly regarded practice. You will work collaboratively with senior attorneys to deliver tailored solutions for a diverse clientele, including individuals, families, and businesses.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and implement comprehensive estate plans, including drafting wills, trusts, and healthcare directives
  • Design various trust structures, such as revocable, irrevocable, and supplemental needs trusts
  • Manage estate and trust administration tasks, including probate proceedings and fiduciary accountings
  • Advise clients on business succession planning strategies for closely held companies
  • Provide guidance on estate and gift tax planning to optimize client outcomes
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through regular communication and attention to detail
  • Collaborate with attorneys across practice areas to deliver integrated legal solutions
  • Conduct legal research and stay informed on developments in trust and estate law
  • Assist in resolving trust and estate-related disputes when necessary
  • Support senior attorneys in managing client matters efficiently and effectively.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active admission to the New York State Bar
  • A minimum of 6-10 years of experience in Trust & Estates law, including estate planning and administration
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents with strong analytical skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Familiarity with estate planning and gift tax laws.
