We are looking for a Trust and Estate Attorney to join an established small law firm in California. This permanent role is suited for a legal specialist who brings strong experience in estate planning, trust and estate administration, and probate, along with a client-centered approach to service. The attorney in this position will manage matters with care and precision while helping clients navigate sensitive legal decisions efficiently and confidently. Job Responsibility
Manage trust, estate, and probate matters from initial evaluation through final resolution, ensuring each case moves forward effectively
Lead client consultations to identify objectives, explain legal options, address concerns, and develop practical strategies tailored to individual circumstances
Prepare and revise estate planning documents, legal correspondence, court filings, and petitions with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Represent clients in court proceedings and other formal matters related to trusts, estates, and probate cases
Direct and support staff involved in complex legal work to maintain timely service, strong coordination, and quality deliverables
Review case status regularly, identify next steps, and implement efficient plans that support positive client outcomes
Contribute to special projects and firm initiatives as needed to support operational and client service goals
Monitor assigned files closely to keep deadlines, documentation, and case progress on track through completion
Requirements
Active membership in the State Bar of California in good standing
At least 2 years of experience in trusts and estates, with substantial work in estate planning, trust administration, or probate matters
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal settings
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and maintain productive client and colleague relationships
Capability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment
Excellent organizational and time management skills with careful attention to detail
High standards, sound judgment, and a strong sense of integrity
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with standard office procedures
