Our client, a successful law firm, is looking for a detail-oriented and resourceful Trust Administrator to join their team in Boston, Massachusetts. In this role, you will play a key part in managing trust accounts, assisting clients with their financial needs, and ensuring the

Job Responsibility

  • Carefully and consistently guard the privacy of client and firm information
  • Proactively assist clients. Identify issues that need to be addressed (related to gift taxes, estate planning needs, etc.)
  • Serve and anticipate needs of clients. Calculate and monitor distributions from accounts. Monitor money market balances to ensure that adequate cash is available for upcoming account activity
  • Effectively document and communicate client and account issues with partners and other staff
  • Coordinate interaction with firm's custodian bank
  • Coordinate asset transfers including stock gifts, additions to accounts and distributions from accounts
  • Coordinate account opening and closing with account team (Trustee, Accounting Coordinator, Tax Specialist, etc.)
  • Act as a resource to others for trust administration and estate settlement
  • Maintain client files including electronic files. Keep firm databases up to date
  • Assist with investment tasks including investment reviews, preparing investment recommendation sheets using Excel and using Advent/Moxy to create trades
  • Perform special projects and other duties as reasonably assigned

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of experience required
  • High level knowledge of trust administration, trust accounting, estate settlement, investments, estate and gift tax, fiduciary income tax, and generation-skipping transfer tax
  • Undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in business, finance or a related field
  • JD considered a plus
  • Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) designation preferred but not required
  • Proficient in fiduciary administration and tax software (e.g., SEI products, OneSource) a plus
  • Successful experience in a client-facing role
  • Meticulous and accurate
  • Adept at critical thinking and able to anticipate next steps

Nice to have

  • JD considered a plus
  • Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) designation preferred but not required
  • Proficient in fiduciary administration and tax software (e.g., SEI products, OneSource) a plus
