Our client, a premier local service shop specializing in out-of-warranty repairs and specialized component work, is looking for an experienced Truck Transport Mechanic to join their Winnipeg team. This role is ideal for a technician who takes pride in high-quality workmanship and thrives in a steady, service-focused atmosphere. As a Truck Transport Mechanic, you will be a key player in the service department, ensuring that heavy-duty vehicles are returned to the road in peak condition through expert troubleshooting and repair.
Job Responsibility:
Participate in daily toolbox talks and coordinate with the service team to prioritize open work orders
Utilize advanced diagnostic tools to identify and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical faults
Execute full removals and replacements of transmissions, differentials, clutches, and driveline systems
Perform routine inspections and out-of-warranty corrective maintenance to ensure long-term vehicle reliability
Conduct thorough safety inspections to ensure all vehicles meet strict provincial and industry regulations
Maintain precise records of all labor, parts used, and services performed for customer transparency
Clearly explain technical issues and repair requirements to both colleagues and customers
Requirements:
Valid Truck and Transport Mechanic ticket (Journeyman or Red Seal) is a significant asset
3+ years of experience in a heavy-duty service shop environment with a focus on component swaps
Proficiency in performing vehicle safeties and using modern electronic diagnostic software
Must possess a personal, well-stocked toolbox to perform daily mechanical tasks
Ability to safely lift up to 60 lbs and navigate an industrial shop environment
A Class 1 Driver's License is considered a major asset for vehicle testing and movement
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
