Job Description:

Join Bonneville County as a Full-Time Truck Driver for our Road & Bridge team in Idaho Falls, Idaho. This position offers a dynamic and engaging work environment where you'll play a crucial role in maintaining community infrastructure.

Job Responsibility:

  • Construction, maintenance, and repair of county roads and service systems
  • Operate snow removal and sanding equipment
  • Apply ice control materials
  • Operate various transport vehicles (gravel trucks, flatbeds) to transport materials like asphalt and debris
  • Perform daily preventive maintenance and safety inspections
  • Assist in seasonal operations such as patching and tree trimming
  • Adhere to all safety policies
  • Reliable attendance and performance
  • Flexibility to take on additional job-related duties as needed

Requirements:

  • Some knowledge of the principles and techniques of heavy mechanized equipment operations
  • knowledge of hazards and safety standards common in medium and heavy equipment operation and maintenance and repair
  • Skill in operation of light to medium duty equipment
  • Ability to operate various kinds of light to medium duty equipment
  • Ability to perform strenuous labor for extended periods of time under varying conditions
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Idaho Class "A" Commercial Drivers License with no restrictions
  • Must be able to acquire flagger certification
  • Required to obtain "Tanker" endorsement within 6 months of hire date
